CINBAX-II 2026:INDIA-CAMBODIA BILATERAL EXERCISE

Cambodia Bilateral Military Exercise

New Delhi: The Indian Army contingent departed for the second edition of India – Cambodia Bilateral Military Exercise CINBAX-II 2026. The exercise is scheduled to be conducted at Techo Sen Phnom Thom Mreas Prov Royal Cambodian Air Force Training Centre (Camp Basil), Kampong Speu Province, Kingdom of Cambodia from 04 to 17 May 2026.

As part of India’s ongoing Defence Cooperation with friendly foreign countries, the bilateral exercise CINBAX-II with Cambodia holds significance in the backdrop of evolving global security challenges.

The exercise will be conducted under the framework of Chapter VII of UN Mandate, showcasing Company level joint training for conduct of operations in sub-conventional environment.

The Indian Army contingent comprises of 120 personnel, majorly from a Battalion of the Maratha Light Infantry Regiment. The Cambodian contingent comprises of 160 personnel, from Royal Cambodian Army.

The Joint exercise will be aligned with the current dynamics of Counter-Terrorism operations encountered by the peace keeping forces during the UN peace keeping operation. This aim will be achieved through various practical and comprehensive discussions as well as tactical exercises, leading to a comprehensive validation exercise.

Special skill training, including that of Drone operations, Mortar and sniper tactics will be practiced as part of the exercise. The primary objective is to enhance interoperability, coordination and operational synergy between the contingents of both nations.

The exercise will not only showcase the capability of both the nations towards maintaining global peace, but will also facilitate in exchanging best practices and sharing of operational experiences gained during various operations against hostile forces in Semi-Urban environment.

The joint military exercise CINBAX-II 2026 reflects the growing Defence Co-operation between India – Cambodia and will further enhance the bilateral relations between the two nations, while contributing towards mutual understanding in handling regional security challenges.

PRESIDENT VISITS HEADQUARTERS

New Delhi: The Honorable President of India and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Smt. Droupadi Murmu visited Headquarters of Army Training Command (ARTRAC), Shimla today.

She was received by Shri Kavinder Gupta, Hon’ble Governor of Himachal Pradesh and Lieutenant General Devendra Sharma, GOC-in-C, ARTRAC on her arrival at ARTRAC.

The President was briefed by GOC-in-C on evolution of ARTRAC, the stellar role of ARTRAC in providing quality training to Indian Army personnel to enhance operational efficiency as well as on salient initiatives of ARTRAC.

Elaborating on the novel initiatives of ARTRAC, GOC-in-C brought out the impetus provided towards Drone Training, steps taken to absorb niche technologies, introduction of the concept of ‘Red Teaming’ and initiatives towards Digitisation and Automation in the Indian Army.

The President acknowledged the fact that ARTRAC has an all-encompassing role of designing concepts of warfare, resource development for the Indian Army and widespread engagements with Friendly Foreign Countries and Sister Services. It is a critical gear in the path to Military Glory, Atmanirbharta and Viksit Bharat.

The ARTRAC, through its 32 premier training establishments vitalises the domain of professionalism in the Indian Army, which gives it a unique perspective into the art and science of warfighting.

The President also exchanged views with Lieutenant General Devendra Sharma in the presence of Shri Kavinder Gupta, Honorable Governor of Himachal Pradesh on training in the Indian Army, in order to make the Nation secure and strong.

 The President exhorted ARTRAC to continue to work with fervour to enhance the operational preparedness of the Indian Army. She complimented all ranks of ARTRAC and Defence Civilians for the stellar work being done and urged them to continue working with enhanced zeal and fervour.

Dustlik 2026: Indian Army Contingent Departs for Uzbekistan

Dustlik 2026 Indian Army Uzbekistan

New Delhi: The Indian Army contingent departed today for the 7th edition of India-Uzbekistan joint military Exercise DUSTLIK. The Exercise is scheduled to be conducted at Gurumsaray Field Training Area, Namangam, Uzbekistan from 12 to 25 April 2026.

Exercise DUSTLIK is a yearly event conducted alternatively in India and Uzbekistan. Last edition was conducted at Foreign Training Node, Aundh (Pune) in April 2025.

The Indian Armed Forces contingent comprising 60 personnel is being represented by 45 personnel from the Indian Army, majorly from a Battalion of the MAHAR Regiment and 15 personnel from the Indian Air Force. The Uzbekistan contingent also comprises of approximately 60 personnel, from Uzbekistan Army and Air Force.

Aim of Exercise DUSTLIK is to foster military cooperation and enhance combined capabilities to execute joint operations in semi-mountainous terrain. It would focus on high degree of physical fitness, joint planning, joint tactical drills and basics of special arms skills. The Exercise will also establish a unified operational algorithm between the command-and-control structures of both the contingents for planning and execution of joint operations.

Key operational aspects to be practiced include land navigation, strike missions on enemy bases and seizure of enemy-held areas. The Indian contingent will take the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the operational procedures and drills of the Uzbekistan Armed Forces and share own operational experiences with the Uzbekistan contingent.

The joint training will culminate in a 48-hour validation exercise aimed at validating the tactical drills for joint operations, emphasising on Preparation & Execution of Joint Special Operations, aimed at Neutralisation of Unlawful Armed Groups.

Exercise DUSTLIK will enable the two sides to share their best practices in Tactics, Techniques and Procedures of conducting joint operations and will further strengthen interoperability, operational synergy and joint command and control coordination between the contingents.

The Exercise will facilitate developing bonhomie and camaraderie between soldiers of both the countries. This will also enhance the level of defence cooperation, further fostering bilateral relations between the two friendly nations.

Two-Day NCC ADGs/DDGs Conference Starts in New Delhi

New Delhi: The two-day conference of the Additional Directors General (ADGs) and Deputy Directors General (DDGs) of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) commenced at the Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi, on 12 March 2026. Defence Secretary Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh addressed the conference on the opening day.

In his address, Defence Secretary emphasised the importance of transforming the National Cadet Corps in line with the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047. He also appreciated the NCC’s significant contribution to various social outreach programmes conducted across the country.

Defence Secretary, in his interaction with the ADGs and DDGs of all NCC Directorates, called for synergised efforts aligned with the policies and initiatives of the Central Government. Such efforts, he noted, would contribute towards the more effective realisation of the goals and objectives of the National Cadet Corps.

Director General (NCC) Shri Virendra Vats highlighted the initiatives undertaken during the past year to expand the NCC and enhance infrastructure and logistical support. Key issues related to quality of training, infrastructure development, as well as emerging domains such as drone and cyber training were discussed in the conference.

The conference serves as an important platform for senior NCC leadership to deliberate on key policy issues, share best practices and chart a roadmap for further strengthening the organisation and its training framework in the years ahead.

Exercise Lamitiye 2026 Indian contingent Seychelles

New Delhi: Indian Armed Forces contingent arrived at Seychelles to participate in the Eleventh edition of Joint Military Exercise “LAMITIYE-2026” with Seychelles Defence Forces (SDF). The Joint Exercise will be conducted at Seychelles Defence Academy from 09-20 March 2026. ‘LAMITIYE’ meaning ‘Friendship’ in the Creole language is a biennial training event and has been conducted in Seychelles since 2001.

This edition marks a significant milestone with the participation of all three services of the Indian Armed Forces. The contingent comprises of personnel from the ASSAM Regiment and participation from Indian Navy and Indian Air Force including INS Trikand and a C-130 aircraft.

The Exercise Lamitye-2026 will strive to enhance synergy in the domains of Sub-conventional Operations in Semi-Urban environment and cooperation and interoperability between both the sides during Peace Keeping Operations. The exercise will also build and promote bilateral military relations in addition to exchanging skills, experiences and good practices between both the armies.

Both sides will jointly train, plan and execute a series of tactical drills for neutralisation of likely threats that may be encountered in Semi-Urban environment, while exploiting and showcasing New Generation Equipment and technology. The 12 days long Joint Exercise will include Field Training Exercises, combat discussions, case studies, lectures & demonstrations, culminating with two days of Validation Exercise.

The exercise will contribute immensely in developing mutual understanding and magnify jointness between the troops of both the nations.

Army Chief Flags In Bharat Ranbhoomi Darshan in Delhi Expedition

New Delhi: General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), flagged in the Bharat Ran Bhoomi Darshan Expedition at the National War Memorial, New Delhi today, in the presence of distinguished civil and defence dignitaries. The expedition was led by Indian Army’s Regiment of Artillery. Flagging in the expedition, the COAS lauded the initiative for its national significance and strategic outreach value. He emphasised that such endeavours preserve India’s rich heritage while inspiring present and future generations to uphold the highest ideals of service to the nation. The expedition also promoted the RanBhoomi Darshan initiative, bringing national attention to historically significant battlefields and border regions that form the bedrock of India’s security narrative.

Flagged off on 03 February 2026 from the coastal city of Dwarka in Gujarat, the 3,400-kilometre SUV expedition traversed key battlefields and forward areas across Gujarat and Rajasthan, including the Rann of Kutch and the Thar Desert, before culminating at the National War Memorial in New Delhi. The route included Dwarka, Bhuj, Rann of Kutch, Munabao, Gadra, Longewala, Jaisalmer, Bikaner, Ambala and New Delhi. The expedition travelled along border roads and tracks, showcasing enhanced connectivity in remote border areas, highlighting the improved infrastructure that supports operational readiness and civilian access alike.

The 35-member contingent comprised Gunners from the Regiment of Artillery, along with personnel from the Indian Navy and the Border Security Force. The expedition was aligned with the national vision of border outreach and national integration. Throughout the journey, the team paid homage at prominent war memorials and historic battle sites along the Western Front, honouring India’s Bravehearts who made the supreme sacrifice in service of the nation. The expedition also served as a powerful outreach initiative, engaging with Veer Naris, Viranganas, veterans, NCC cadets, students and residents of border areas. The warmth and respect extended by civil authorities and local communities at every halt underscored the deep bond between the forces and the citizens they safeguard.

The successful culmination of the first Bharat RanBhoomi Darshan Expedition stands as a testament to the Armed Forces’ enduring commitment to honour the past, engage the present and inspire the future – linking India’s heroic sacrifices with its aspirations for a secure, united and resilient tomorrow.

Khanjar: India–Kyrgyzstan Special Forces Exercise

India–Kyrgyzstan Special Forces Exercise

New Delhi: The 13th edition of the India-Kyrgyzstan Joint Special Forces Exercise KHANJAR, scheduled from 04 to 17 February 2026, has commenced in Missamari, Assam. Exercise KHANJAR is an annual training event conducted alternatively between India and Kyrgyzstan. The last edition of the exercise was conducted in Kyrgyzstan in March 2025.

The Indian Army contingent comprising 20 personnel is represented by troops from the Parachute Regiment (Special Forces) and the Kyrgyzstan contingent also comprising equal strength is represented by ILBRIS Special Forces Brigade.

Aim of the exercise is to exchange best practices and experiences in Counter Terrorism and Special Forces Operations in urban and mountainous terrain. The exercise will also focus on developing advanced Special Forces skills of sniping, complex building intervention and mountain craft.

Exercise KHANJAR will provide an opportunity for both sides to fortify defence ties while addressing common concerns of international terrorism and extremism. The exercise reaffirms the commitment of India and Kyrgyzstan towards fostering peace, stability and security in the region.

Khanjar India–Kyrgyzstan Special Forces Exercise aims to enhance interoperability, tactical coordination, and mutual understanding between elite units, primarily focusing on counter-terrorism operations and special forces tactics in challenging environments such as urban areas and mountainous terrain.

Dharma Guardian-2026 Exercise begins between India and Japan

New Delhi: The 7th edition of the annual Joint Military Exercise ‘DHARMA GUARDIAN-2026’ between the Indian Army and the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF) commenced today at the Foreign Training Node, Chaubattia in Uttarakhand. The exercise will be conducted from 24 February to 9 March 2026.

“DHARMA GUARDIAN-2026 ” also reflects the growing strategic partnership between India and Japan, promoting regional security, mutual trust, and collaboration in the Indo-Pacific region.

This edition brings together a 120-member contingent from each side, with the JGSDF represented by troops from the 32nd Infantry Regiment and the Indian Army contingent drawn from the Ladakh Scouts. The exercise is held alternately in India and Japan and remains a key pillar of defence cooperation between the two nations.

The aim of Exercise ‘DHARMA GUARDIAN’ is to strengthen military collaboration and enhance combined capabilities to undertake joint operations in a semi-urban environment. Over the next two weeks, participating troops will focus on achieving high levels of physical fitness, refining joint planning processes and synchronising tactical drills. The Joint Exercise is anchored in employment of modern technology, enhancing interoperability and contemporary operational aspects. 

Key tactical activities during the exercise include:

  • Establishing a Temporary Operating Base
  • Developing an Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) grid
  • Setting up Mobile Vehicle Check Posts
  • Conducting Cordon and Search Operations in hostile environment
  • Executing Heliborne Operations
  • Undertaking House Intervention Drills

Vajra Prahar India US Special Forces exercise in Himachal showcases the growing defense cooperation and joint training between the two nations.

New Delhi: The US Army contingent has arrived in India to participate in the 16th edition of the India-US Joint Special Forces Exercise VAJRA PRAHAR, scheduled to be conducted at the Special Forces Training School, Bakloh, Himachal Pradesh, from 24 February to 16 March 2026. The previous edition of the exercise was held at the Orchard Combat Training Centre in Idaho, USA in November 2024.

The Indian Army contingent, represented by Special Forces units, comprises 45 personnel, while the United States will be represented by 12 personnel from the Green Berets of the US Special Forces.

The aim of Exercise VAJRA PRAHAR is to promote military cooperation between India and the United States through enhanced interoperability, jointness and mutual exchange of special operations tactics. The exercise is designed to strengthen combined capabilities for conducting joint Special Forces operations in mountainous terrain.

The training will focus on a high degree of physical conditioning, joint mission planning and the execution of joint tactical drills. Participating troops will share best practices and operational experiences in areas such as joint mission planning and special operations tactics, techniques and procedures.

The exercise is expected to further deepen interoperability, mutual trust and professional camaraderie between the Special Forces of both nations, reinforcing the growing defence partnership between India and the United States.
