Naval Investiture Ceremony 2026

New Delhi: Adm. Dinesh K Tripathi, Chief of the Naval Staff, presented Gallantry and Distinguished Service awards to Indian Naval personnel on behalf of the Hon’ble President of India at the Naval Investiture Ceremony held in Mumbai on 01 Apr 2026.

The Naval Investiture Ceremony 2026 celebrated the dedication, discipline, and achievements of India’s naval officers and sailors. Distinguished personnel were honored with awards and medals recognizing exceptional service, leadership, and acts of bravery.

Awards were conferred to honour and recognise bravery, leadership, professional achievement and distinguished service of Naval personnel and units.

Individual awards conferred during the ceremony included two Yudh Seva Medal, twelve Nao Sena Medal (Gallantry), eight Nao Sena Medal (Devotion to Duty), and eighteen Vishisht Seva Medal.

CNS also presented the Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak to the spouse of Late Deepak Kumar, PO ME, Capt Ravi Dhir Memorial Gold Medal for promoting Flight Safety, and Lt VK Jain Memorial Medal for outstanding applied research.

Unit Citations were awarded to operational afloat units and shore establishments for their outstanding service over the past year whilst the CNS Rolling Trophy for Best Green Practices was awarded in the industrial and non-industrial categories.

VAdm Krishna Swaminathan, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief Western Naval Command, officers and sailors of the Indian Navy, and spouses and families of the awardees were in attendance.

Two-Day NCC ADGs/DDGs Conference Starts in New Delhi

New Delhi: The two-day conference of the Additional Directors General (ADGs) and Deputy Directors General (DDGs) of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) commenced at the Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi, on 12 March 2026. Defence Secretary Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh addressed the conference on the opening day.

In his address, Defence Secretary emphasised the importance of transforming the National Cadet Corps in line with the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047. He also appreciated the NCC’s significant contribution to various social outreach programmes conducted across the country.

Defence Secretary, in his interaction with the ADGs and DDGs of all NCC Directorates, called for synergised efforts aligned with the policies and initiatives of the Central Government. Such efforts, he noted, would contribute towards the more effective realisation of the goals and objectives of the National Cadet Corps.

Director General (NCC) Shri Virendra Vats highlighted the initiatives undertaken during the past year to expand the NCC and enhance infrastructure and logistical support. Key issues related to quality of training, infrastructure development, as well as emerging domains such as drone and cyber training were discussed in the conference.

The conference serves as an important platform for senior NCC leadership to deliberate on key policy issues, share best practices and chart a roadmap for further strengthening the organisation and its training framework in the years ahead.
